Dr. Jones was the next one to arrive in Delhi along with Noora, Ashley and Destin. Jade would follow shortly after and Phil had been delayed in Germany as he agreed to step out an overbooked plane, cashing in 600 Euros, with the assurance to be in a plane to Delhi the next day.
The next morning, on Sunday, all of us, except Phil who was still on his way, met in the dining room on the roof. We had our first Indian breakfast-buffet. Most of us avoided the cut fruits as recommended by Dr. Jones and we enjoyed spicy Indian food, boiled eggs, pancakes and mango juice.
We then met in the lobby and headed to the street to get our bearings and possibly do some shopping.
As we are looking through the lobby’s window…
A rickshaw…
Hindu temple half way between our hotel and New Delhi Central station…
A shop of statues of Hindu divinities…
The local mode of transportation: the rickshaws.
Carrying huge bags of rice…
An old woman searching the the streets for some valuable items abandoned by others…
Delhi, and India at large, counts many stray dogs in the streets…
A typical Indian cab… Next to it, a bike loaded with coconuts!
This old man is sowing in the shade of a bridge…
Ashley followed by Noora, Jade & Bryan as they are walking in the heat of New Delhi…
Passing by a New Delhi hotel close to ours…
